If you are eligible for and are claiming a Doctoral loan, Student Finance England will inform King’s that you have applied for this funding, and King’s will confirm when you have enrolled so that the funds can be released to you. You do not need to inform the University of your funding unless you were originally planning to study at another university at the time of application. If you have any problems confirming your enrolment at King’s with Student Finance England, please contact the Student Funding Office.
Important to know: When your invoice is first issued, it will show as being due in two equal instalments. However, the Credit Control team will re-schedule the invoice into three equal instalments with due dates to match your loan disbursements. The team will then email your King's email address to confirm this change has been made. For more information on the process, please visit the Credit Control Postgraduate SLC Loans webpage.
If your tuition fees are more than the PG Doctoral Loan you will need to have secured other sources of funding or income to ensure that you can pay each instalment in full when the bill is due. If you have concerns about paying for your course and/or living costs, we advise you consult the Money & Housing Advice Service.
